Many of us are aware of trying to "be" rather than "do." However, we are often doing things unconsciously that we're not aware of. By consciously undoing these things we are doing, we can find a place to rest in the peaceful awareness of our being.
It is also found in non-dual philosophies included in the spiritual aspects of all the world's major faiths as well as in nonreligious philosophical inquiries throughout the ages. Non-dual Awareness is simply our natural state. It's a deeper state of presence and mindfulness in which we were all born and lived in as a child until we became intellectualized and socially conditioned.
There is nothing to promote here except simply being aware of thoughts and feelings while recognizing that you are the one witnessing these. This instruction is summarized in the rest in being video on the right:
